KEYPAD DESCRIPTION
ON/OFF: to turn the meter on and off.
ZERO: to zero the meter prior to measurement.
READ/TIMER: this is a bi-functional key, just press for making a measurement, or hold the
key for 3 seconds to start a pre-programmed countdown prior to measurement.
CAL CHECK: this bi-functional key allows to perform validation of the instrument just pressing
the CAL CHECK key, or hold the key for 3 seconds to enter the calibration mode.
OPERATING MODES
Measurement mode: default operation mode, enables both validation and measurement.
Calibration mode: may be entered by keeping CAL CHECK pressed
for three seconds (the “CAL”
icon appears), it enables calibration of the instrument.
DISPLAY ELEMENTS DESCRIPTION
1) four digit main display area.
2) CAL: appears when the instrument operates in the calibration mode.
3) the Month and Day icons appear above the number of month and day when a date is
displayed.
4) the blinking “Battery” icon appears when the battery voltage is getting low.
This prompt appears for 1 second each time the instrument is
turned on.
This indicates that the meter is in a ready state and zeroing can
be performed.
Sampling in Progress. This flashing prompt appears each time the
meter is performing a measurement.

Replace the cap to the cuvet, and shake
gently a couple of times.
Place the cuvet with the reacted deionized
water (blank) into the holder and ensure that
the notch on the cap is positioned securely
into the groove.
Hold READ/TIMER
for three seconds and the
display will show the countdown or,
alternatively, wait for two minutes.
Press ZERO and "SIP" will blink on the
display.
Wait for a few seconds and the display will
show "-0.0-". Now the meter is zeroed and
ready for measurement.
Remove the blank from the instrument.
Remove the cap from the cuvet and discard
the blank.
Rinse the cuvet a couple of times with the
unreacted sample and discard it.
Turn upside down the empty cuvet and shake
it to remove excess of liquid.
Fill the same cuvet with 10 mL of unreacted
sample.
For most accurate results, use of another
clean class A laboratory pipette is strongly
recommended.
Alternatively, fill the cuvet up to the 10 mL
mark.
Add 2 mL of HI 93729-0 Fluoride Reagent
to the cuvet by use of the 2000 µL automatic
pipette.
